Early Snow

February 5, 2019 Alana Sprague

Back in December, Cargo Literary had a last minute Christmas cover contest for Issue 14, which came out in early January. We wanted to take the time now to introduce our cover winner properly, Alana Sprague.

Congrats Alana!

Artist’s Statement:

Although I specialize in nature and landscape photography in Canada’s smallest province of Prince Edward Island, I also find passion in capturing the love of families. I am inspired by the beauty just outside my front door and the world beyond. One adjective often used to describe my art is colourful. I am always thankful to be able to work doing something I love so much.

—Alana Sprague, LANS Photography

About Alana Sprague

Alana Sprague of Lans Photography, has worked as a self taught photographer for over a decade. Behind her lens is where she is most at peace. When not working as the National Events Manager for PGI Canada, a national not for profit organization supporting literacy across Canada, Alana thrives to capture the beauty outside her front door and the world beyond. She finds passion in the light of love at weddings, beautiful babies and showcasing people's dreams coming true. Alana has been published in Canadian Geographic, RED an Island Storybook, and the soon to be released book of Canadian photographs by Harper Collins Canada simply titled, “Canada”. She also shoots for Tourism PEI and her photographs help to showcase the amazing beauty of Canada's smallest province. In her spare time, Alana can be found chasing sunsets, enjoying a pint of frothy craft beer and hanging with her son, the elusive teenager, extremely difficult to capture in the wild.
