About Randy Appell Johnson

Randy Appell Johnson currently teaches in the ESL Program at Capital Community College in Hartford. She earned an M.A in English from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut and an M.Ed in special education from Boston University. Previously, she taught developmental writing and composition at local community colleges and the University of Hartford in West Hartford, Connecticut, but abandoned teaching for nine years of work as a software tester. When Randy got laid off in 2008 and again in 2009, she applied for a passport, updated her teaching credentials, and moved to Seonghwan, Korea where she taught English for three years at Namseoul University. Her work has appeared in bluemusemag.com and Terra Infirma: CCSU 10th Anniversary Environmental Sustainability Symposium magazine.
