Urban Beauty

Kyle Hemmings

Artist Statement. I wanted to capture my love for the city of Manhattan, especially the East Village, and project it as photo art. To me, there is something surreal and otherworldly about the city, a certain kind of feeling of both loneliness and a joy that transcends the mundane cityscape. Even the buildings and billboards have a kind of character, silent yet full of a rich voice. My interest in photography stems from a vision of capturing a beauty in the urban and the mundane. —KH
