Artist’s Statement
Four photos, Arcadia, Captain Eddie’s Christmas, Fisherman’s Wharf, and Grande Aire, reflect my continuing search, wherever I go, for the hints of history, the places that go unnoticed as we zip by on the interstates. These four are Old Florida structures, still in their work clothes.
Naperville shows a quaint downtown before popularity made it look like an outdoor version of mall america.
Lincoln’s tomb is a somber place where one reflects on his great impact on American history, and its great impact on his personal life. The absence of color and the extreme contrast help to focus one’s attention on the context, as opposed to the composition.
