Welcome to Cargo Lit’s issue no 7!

begin the journey with us

Thank you for all your stories, words, and art that all of you sent me over the summer. Our submission box is overflowing, and we couldn’t be happier.

In Issue no 7 a few themes emerge  — being lost, being found. Comfort, grief, expansion.

Read our two Amazonian tales in Patron Saints and Other Companions and Creature Comforts. The symbiotic stories reverberate with the piece by Jim Breithaupt, who shares his experience hiking the Arizona Trail.

In poetry, read about Home in Origin Blues: An Elegy by Sarah McCall and about The Trip We Never Took by Marina Outwater.

Check out Artwork by Cesar Valtierra.

‘Author white moments in shudders and glimmers’ in the Great Wall poetry of Timothy Gordon. Click your knitting needles together with Lori Ulrich.

Hold your breath in Fire by Valerie Wayson and join the global church in Blink. England. Blink by MacKenzie Jager.  Finally, join Jan Ball for a light lunch.

We at Cargo are growing and changing to better serve you—our readers. I always appreciate receiving your letters and getting your feedback. We also thank all of our contributors. As one writer addressed us this month:

Thanks for reading my poems. For real.

We loved them – and You’re welcome.

Finally, a huge shoutout to all my editors without whom I could not do this job.

Yours,

M0
