Photographer’s Statement:
“If you go to certain parts of Spain you just may be treated to a flamenco show and chances are you’ll fall in love with it. Dating back to before 1800 it was the traditional song and dance of the gypsies of Andalusia. Flamenco is also popular in the regions of Extremadura and Murcia. Flamenco has a story to tell like most art forms and flamenco generally consists of Cante (song), Toque (guitar) and Baile (dance) plus Jaleo (vocalizations), Palmas (handclapping) and Pitos (finger snapping). These images were taken in the village of Mijas between Malaga and the jet setting city of Marbella.”
